Each day of the Read Across America Week was celebrated with different theme. Monday was "Mixed Up Monday" with students and staff wearing their clothing mismatched, inside out, upside down or backwards to school. It was a day of zany excitement as everyone checked out the new ways everyone else was wearing their outfits. Tuesday was "Thing One and Thing TWOsday", giving students and staff the chance to design their hair into crazy hairstyles or to wear their favorite hat. Throughout the day, students and staff could be found wearing zany hairstyles, beautiful fascinators, and wonderfully fun favorite hats. In honor of our friend the Lorax, students and staff were encouraged to wear green for the environment and a fun mustache on Wednesday for "The Lorax Goes Green" day. There were bright green mustaches, black mustaches, soft mustaches, and fuzzy mustaches all around Stratford Landing on Wednesday. Thursday was "Fox in Socks" day, with students and staff wearing silly or mismatched socks. The day was filled with patterned socks and socks with designs of all kind. Everyone had fun checking out what kind of socks everyone had wore to school. Read Across America Week finished with a fabulous "Sleep Book" day with students and staff wearing their pajamas or comfy clothes to school. Students and staff enjoyed celebrating the week in honor of the beloved author, Dr. Seuss.
