Advanced Academic Program

Advanced Academic Press

Each elementary school is staffed with an Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART). The AART collaborates with the school staff to determine the appropriate level of advanced academic services. Parents may refer their child for advanced academic services by contacting the AART at the local school. Ongoing observation and assessment ensures that student needs are being met.

For additional information about the screening process or advanced academic opportunities at your child’s school, contact the principal or AART at your local elementary school or the director of student services at the middle school. For information on countywide services for advanced learners, call the Advanced Academic programs office at 571-423-4740.

All Advanced Academic Program (AAP) forms are available here.

An AAP virtual orientation session took place on April 15, 2021. The information presented during this session is provided below. FCPS also provided a virtual orientation video for all new AAP families.

Before and After School Club Opportunities

During normal circumstances and normal scheduling, Stratford Landing offers a variety of before-school and after-school club activities. Many are run by parent or teacher volunteers. Some, are held by professionals from PTA hired companies.

There is a fee for most classes, however, limited scholarships are available to those who need it. There is currently no list of clubs that will be available next school year, but we look forward to having them again when we are able to.
